Act 1: Daybreak

Panel #1
Often stories begin with famous lines, lines that transcend time and become known as those unforgettable gnomic phrases. Whether it was the best of times or the worst, it was a day like any other--famous last words.

A forlorn youth sits at his desk. He does not have a name. Well, he does, but it is not important. He really does not care what you call him, so long as he knows that you are talking to/about him.

He rubs his eyes wearily--too many sleepless nights. No matter how tired he was, he never awoke rested. Dreams occur during the REM cycle of sleep, the deepest part of the sleeping journey. He never dreamed. The closest thing he has to dreams is utter blackness filled with what sounds like the muffled cries of a dying creature.
